Internet poker has become world famous lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years many types on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with twenty-one than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the dealer broadcasting "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course all of the other players attain 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s initial card, you must either make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s value is equal to your original bet, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantaneously to the bank. After the bet comes the showdown. If the house doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, plus a figure in accordance with the original bet. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The casino pony’s up chips equal to your initial bet and controlled odds on your call wager. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- two to one for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
