Double-hand Poker is a modern game with old origins. Based on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the eastern with the west in an excellent game for new players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler vs. the casino, unlike almost all other poker games that gamblers play with other gamblers. By playing against the dealer, beginning players don’t have to be concerned about other, more skillful individuals winning their moolla.

An additional Pai Gow edge is the generally slow game play, newcomers should be able to take their time and strategize while not having to make frenzied decisions.

It’s also much simpler to participate in for a long time with only a small bit of money since, to lose, both of your hands must be under both of the houses hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The player is assigned seven cards face up and the casino gets 7 cards faces hidden.

One 5 card hand and a two card hand must be made from the seven cards, the 5 card hand has to be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the houses.
