Online poker has become globally famous lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its television scores. Over the years numerous variants on the original poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the house instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no conniving or other types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up just before the dealer declares "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course all of the other players receive 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the casino’s first card, you must in turn make a call wager or give up. The call wager’s amount is akin to your beginning bet, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your bet goes instantly to the casino. After the wager is the showdown. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, including an amount equal to the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The bank pays cash even with your bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
